Every character and logo has a story. Every detail has a reason.

As some of you know, my background is in design. I love logos, branding, characters, and bringing new concepts to life. I spent 15 years doing it before starting Hatch, and since then, Hatch has become my own little creative playground. It’s a place where I can dream up all kinds of unique ideas and turn them into physical products that end up in the hands of people all over the world.

This is where you’ll find the stories, personalities, and little bits of history behind the characters, logos, and artwork that make up the world of Hatch. Some have been here since the beginning. Others are just crawling out of the swamp.

Logos:

Electric Egg

The Electric Egg is our original logo and where it all started. The egg represents Hatch, with a lightning bolt cracking through the shell to symbolize the new ideas and fresh designs we’re constantly hatching each week.

Alter Ego (Bad Egg)

The Alter Ego has an interesting story. It was originally created to symbolize a cover we messed up, a true “Bad Egg” with a defect. Somehow, the mistake stuck. What started as a way to mark an imperfect cover has become one of the cornerstones of Hatch and is often considered our main logo.

With X’d-out eyes and a crack across his mouth, the Alter Ego is our resident Bad Egg and the face behind “Bad Eggs Only.”

Sugar Skull

The Sugar Skull has become one of the most recognizable designs in the Hatch lineup. Built around our signature X eyes and packed with hidden details, patterns, and personality, it takes the Bad Egg look and turns it into something completely its own. Over the years, it’s been reimagined in unique colors, materials, and styles, but the skull underneath always stays unmistakably Hatch.

Melted Script

The Melted Script takes the classic Hatch name and gives it a little more attitude. Warped, dripping, and intentionally imperfect, it feels like the logo got left out in the sun a little too long. It’s become one of our favorite ways to put the Hatch name front and center without ever feeling too clean or traditional.

Characters:

Mully

Mully was our first true character, originally introduced as Mumpty, our take on Humpty Dumpty. He’s a full-on egg with even more personality, and if there’s one thing Mully believes in, it’s the do-over. Because as the saying goes, that second guy could be on Tour.

Saltee

Saltee was born from a little friendly competition and the occasional salty reaction to Hatch doing things our own way. With an appetite for skulls and a personality to match, he quickly found his place in the Hatch crew. He may look innocent, but Saltee has always had a knack for stirring the pot.

Iggy

Iggy was born from the Dew Sweeper Society and the age-old saying, “the early bird gets the worm.” Made for the golfers chasing first light, fresh greens, and the first tee time of the day, Iggy is our little reminder that the early bird always gets rewarded.

Roscoe

Roscoe was born from the Range Rat, the golfer who’s always grinding, always tinkering, and always hungry for more. Whether it’s one more bucket, one more swing, or one more shot at getting better, Roscoe can never quite get enough of whatever he's chasing.

Gnash

Gnash is our neon croc with a laid-back attitude and a little action always on his mind. Cool, calm, and never in much of a hurry, he’s happiest hanging around the course with a friendly wager on the line. Win or lose, Gnash is just here for a good time.
